The Irish
Football Team
The
team mostly played games in the British Home Championship
against the other British nations (England, Scotland and
Wales).
Following the independence of Ireland, the team continued to exist parallel to the Team of the Republic of Ireland, football players choosing Ireland as a whole. This team no longer exists, due to its transformation into the Northern Ireland Football team selecting only players from Northern Ireland

After
the partition of Ireland, although the role of the IFA is
restricted to the administration of football in Northern
Ireland, the Northern Ireland Federation continues to
select players from the whole island of Ireland until 1954
and still later editions for the British Home
Championship. To this Irish team has succeeded in the
texts and on the charts, the current team of IFA, that is
to say, the Northern Ireland football team.
Joe
Bambrick, (born November,3rd
1905 in Belfast, died on October,13th
1983 in Belfast) was a Northern Irish football player. In 1930 he
scored 12 goals in just 11 games with the Northern Ireland team. Half
of these were registered in one match against Wales on February, 1st
1930 in Belfast (7.0)
