The
poutine
Poutine
is a quite versatile Quebec recipe. It can be served as an
accompaniment (with hotdogs and burgers, for example) or as a main
dish. It is also very popular after a hangover to settle the stomach
back in place.

1 packet of BBQ sauce
or other gravy (or spicy or sweet)
cheese curds, hard to find in
Europe, put some grated cheddar or mozzarella instead.

For
medium-sized fries preferably use two batches following the Belgian
fashion. The first at 160-170 ° C and the second (2 minutes) at
180-190 ° C.
In the same time, prepare the sauce by following the
cooking instructions on the package.
In a plate, pour the sauce
over the fries. Depending on whether you prefer your cheese raw or
melted a little (possible with real cheese curds), add the cheese
sauce before or after.

3/4 cup
(190 ml) flour
3/4 cup (190 ml) oatmeal
1/2 cup (125 mL) brown
sugar

Arrange
apples in a square dish of 8 inches (20 cm).
Pour
the syrup over the apples.
Combine
flour, oats, brown sugar, salt and butter until the mixture has the
consistency of breadcrumbs.
Bake
for 35 minutes at 375 ° F (190 ° C). Do not cover.
Spread
the first puff at the bottom of a pie pan. Prick the bottom with a
fork.
Peel
and coarsely chop the apples and place on the pastry.
Sprinkle
generously with sugar and vanilla sugar. Finally, sprinkle with
rum.
