Dublin
is both the capital and the largest city of the Republic of
Ireland.The city is located near the midpoint of the eastern coast of
Ireland and in the center of the country .Dublin is the largest city
in Ireland and has been a place of importance for its population
since the middle Ages.It is currently ranked in the tenth place index
of the financial markets worldwide and has one of the highest rates
of development among capitals. Dublin is the center of historical,
political , artistic, cultural, economic and industrial Ireland. The
population of the city is 525,383 inhabitants, while the Greater
Dublin has a total of 1,804,156 inhabitants. Dublin is a city rooted
in history.
The
Easter Rising 1916, is an important event in the Irish History, and
part of the collective memory of Irish people (see the revolutionary
song the Foggy Dew).It is the rebellion of the peole against the
British occupiers ,even if the facts were confined to the city of
Dublin and were not relayed to the west of Ireland.
I was living in Dublin for a year and I loved to visit every part of the Irish history in the city while riding my bike.
