Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House (New South Wales, Australia) is one of the most famous buildings of the twentieth century and a mecca for representing particular lyric arts. Its original architecture - sailboat for some, shell for others -was designed by the Danish Jørn Utzon.

Located in Sydney Harbour (the exact spot is called Bennelong Point), it is surrounded by a wooded park in the south and is close to the Harbour Bridge (famous Sydney Harbour Bridge consists of a single arch). The resulting landscape has also become a symbol of Australia, and Sydney in particular.

The opera is now a major tourist attraction of the city even if most visitors do not have the opportunity to attend a performance.

This is the shape of the Opera House particularly its originality that made its reputation. It is organized into two main sets of three shells...
The Opera House (183 meters long and 120 meters at its widest point) has an area of 1.8 hectare2. It is supported by 580 concrete piers that sink up to 25 meters below sea level. Its equivalent electrical needs are those of a city of 25, 000 people. The power is distributed by 645 kilometers of electrical cables. The roof is composed of 1,056,0063 white ceramic tiles, marked by Jørn Utzon and made in Japan.

NATIVE PEOPLE

Australian Aborigines

Australian Aborigines are the first people known to have inhabited the mainland.

They are, with the natives of the Torres Strait, the indigenous population of the Pacific state.
The most common aboriginal word generally refers to those ancestors who were the earliest known inhabitants of this native land.

Oceania, that is to say Australia and New Guinea, having never been linked to Asia, there are several theories about their origin.
One of them is that they would have come from the Indonesian archipelago by boats from the north via Timor 40 000 years ago.
Another suggests that they would come through a passage between New Guinea and Australia, which then formed a part of the whole continental emerged from Sahul.

These two theories are not mutually exclusive and it is also possible that many human waves have arrived at different times or at the same time in different geographical parts of the continent.

SPORT

The Boomerang

A boomerang is a flying object with at least two blades, with mullions. Launched by hand to rotate on itself, it flies in a curved path and can return to its thrower. The lift developed by the rotating blades partly determines the characteristics of its trajectory.
The term "boomerang" is general given to a flying object that goes back to its starting point.

Method:
1.Locate wind direction and stand in front of it. The launch takes place at an angle of 45 ° with respect to the wind.
2.Hold the boomerang so that arms are horizontally in front and perpendicular to the ground.
3.Bring arm behind your head, then throw the boomerang in seeking a trajectory parallel to the ground, while giving it a rotation on itself.
4.Analyze the return path:
a)The boomerang returns directly into the hands: bravo!
b)If the boomerang falls before the launcher, restart in a direction that forms a more acute angle with the direction of the wind.
c)If the boomerang falls behind the launcher, restart in a direction which is more open with the wind angle.

The sport of boomerang has been a source of competitions around the world, with different types of tests. According to them, the classification is based on the path length, accuracy, duration, speed, or imposed catching. There has been a World Cup since 1988 in different countries and an international federation manages the settlement of tests and certification records.
Each event has its often very specific boomerang to reach more easily the objectives of the test.
Speed: This is to catch the boomerang five times in a short time
Endurance: You must catch the boomerang as many times in the space of 5 minutes .
This is to die for (not catching) the boomerang closer to the center of the target from which it is launched
The M.T.A. (Maximum Time in Air): This is the boomerang to throw as far away as possible. A rather typed boomerang is used with a blade longer than the other, and very light.
Distance: It is sending the boomerang as far as possible . Consecutive shots (or collisions): It is to run (and catch) the boomerang as many times as possible.
The Freestyle (or Free-style): This is to make figures catching the boomerang.
The Aussie-Round: Complete edition combines a test of distance, accuracy and retrofits.
The boomerang must travel a minimum distance of 20 m from the place of launch.

The boomerang is one of the main objects of the Legend of Zelda series.
A four-bladed boomerang, the cross (holy cross) is a recoverable secondary weapon in Castlevania series.
The boomerang is available in many forms as the main weapon in the gamecube game: Ty the Tasmanian Tiger.
The boomerang is a throwing weapon of the Egyptian civilization..
The boomerang is the weapon of choice of the character Hope in Final Fantasy XIII. It can decapitate a series of online opponent and return to the left.

Industrial manufacturing focuses on laminated wood or plastic. It is possible to make boomerangs in many materials: wood, plastic, bakelite, fiberglass, carbon, etc..
A pattern of cutting a sheet of dense plywood, preferably with a lot of layers (marine grade gasoline moabi mahogany, birch or aircraft-type), woodworking tools and a few hours are enough to get a model for beginners. We can cut the profile to the grater and finish with sandpaper, regularly trying to work till satisfaction.
A boomerang has a curved path, and is constructed such that it issued back to its starting point.

Australia - Animals

watch out :we'll talk about kangaroos

Strictly speaking, the name refers to a kangaroo member of the four largest living species: the red kangaroo, giant kangaroo, eastern gray kangaroo and antelope kangaroo.

In a broad sense, there gathers 63 largest living species of the family of macropods. In addition to the above species are added wallaroos, wallabies, tree kangaroos, pademelon and quokka. This is why they fight before mating. During severe droughts, females automatically become sterile. Like all marsupials, kangaroos give birth to newborn embryo in 4 weeks, at a stage of development equivalent to that of a human embryo of eight weeks. At this stage it is not more than 2 cm and weighs 1 gram. To join the marsupial pouch (marsupium), it crawls on the fur of his mother. To help him, his mother traces his path with her saliva. This maternal pocket is located on the stomach at a distance of 30 cm above the vagina and opened up. It contains four "nipples" that produce milk whose composition  then becomes richer in protein to promote brain development and limbs .
Most kangaroos are herbivores, but some of them are also insectivores.
They are active mainly at dusk and at night. Their predators are dingoes and dogs, since their main predator  the Tasmanian dog, has disappeared. To fight the dogs, one of their favorite tactics is to go into the water and drown the attacker, they can also use their feet to combat the agressor.
They have no particular cry, although they may growl or make a sound like a cough. In some cases, they can blow a bit like cats. Females can call their offspring by emitting clicks language. However, the most common sound that kangaroos produce is their strong legs hitting the ground to prevent their peers from danger.
Kangaroos move by leaps and bounds with great subtlety, their running speeds varies rather slowly in general about 30 km / h
