FOOTBALL
in SCOTLAND
The
Scottish football team consists of a selection of the best Scottish
players representing Scotland in major international football
competitions, the World Cup and European Championship. Its players
are selected among all the Scottish players.
With
the team of England, it is among the oldest national football teams.
In 1872, they took part together in the first official international
match. The team of Scotland cannot however compete for the Olympics,
because Scotland is not an Olympic international committee member.
