Andy Murray


Andy Murray was born from Scottish parents , Will and Judy Murray. He began playing tennis at 5 years old, encouraged by his mother, she herself coached tennis, accompanying him in almost all tournaments. Murray has a brother , James, a professional tennis player too, with whom he sometimes associates , especially when they won the Valencia Open in 2010.

In 1996, when he was eight years old , he was at school at the time of the Dunblane massacre that cost the lives of sixteen children, aged four to six years , as well as their teacher . However, Murray said he did not remember it.

Since 2006, Murray lives with Kim Sears, the daughter of Nigel Sears, former tennis coach.
Andy Murray won the famous Orange Bowl in Florida at the age of 12. In 2001 he was a finalist of the tournament 'Les Petits As' in Tarbes, France (for 12-14 years). Novak Djokovic was eliminated in the quarterfinals that year. In September 2004, at the age of 17, he won the prestigious U.S. Open junior. Two weeks later, he was appointed member of the Davis Cup against Austria but did not play singles or doubles.

2005 - The Beginning
In April , Murray turned professional . He took part in the tournament in Barcelona but he had to give up in the first round against the Czech veteran Hernych. In May, he competed in the German challenger tournament in Dresden, where he lost in the second round .
Murray received shortly after a second opportunity, this time in the London's prestigious Queen's Club tournament . He reached the third round by beating Santiago Ventura and the powerful American Taylor Dent, before losing to Swedish Thomas Johansson in three sets , after injuring his ankle, injury that forced him to forfeit the tournament in Nottingham.

Rewarded for his good performance in the junior tournament in Roland Garros, Andrew Murray, ranked 374th player in the world , but he was defeated in five sets against David Nalbandian .
During the U.S. tour , Andy Murray received an invitation to the tournament on grass in Rhode Island , where he lost against the French Antony Dupuis. He then won the challenger tournament on hard in Aptos , California.

A new invitation allowed him to join the final table of the Masters Series tournament.

Fame
On September 10th, 2012, he beat Novak Djokovic in a match that lasted until 4:54 am, on the score of 7-6, 7-5, 2-6, 3-6, 6-2. It was about his first title in Grand slam. On July 7th, 2013, he won the tournament of Wimbledon by beating Novak Djokovic on the score of 6-4, 7-5, 6-4. He became the first British to win this tournament since Fred Perry in 1936.
He won the US OPEN in 2012 and Wimbledon in 2013.
He won twenty eight ATP titles , including the U.S. Open in 2012 and Wimbledon in 2013 and nine Masters 1000. He was also a finalist for the 2008 U.S. Open , the 2010 Australian Open , 2011 and 2013 and Wimbledon 2012. His highest ranking to date is a second place in the world , reached for the first time on the 17th of August 2009.
